Recently there have been requests on this forum for HTTP link
verification utilities. EIT is making available, in binary form,
a link verifier to assist server maintenance. The link verifier
tool starts from a given URL and traverses links outward, subject
to a specified search profile, producing a report on the state of
all the discovered links. The tool is invoked via CGI scripts, from
your favorite browser. Binaries exist for SunOS, Solaris 2.3,
IRIX 5.1.1, AIX, and OSF1. An HP-UX port is in the works - we've just
gotten an HP machine. Source code is currently not available, and an
announcement will be made if and when it is made available. For more
information, including ftp retrieval, check out:

NOTE: This is a Robot, so you Web Administrators out there may wish
to know the User-Agent name of this robot. It is called the
	"EIT-Link-Verifier-Robot/0.2"

p.s. Many thanks to Michael F. Ledwidge for allowing us access to an
AIX machine for that port.
