Given a reasonable 10x10 network from Mike

create a spreadsheet to compute the cost of a set of connections.

You should use a spreadsheet to do this, such as XL 4 or Dismal.

Part 2. Compute a minimum spanning tree

Use your tool to find the minimum cost spanning tree.
