Alok Parikh and Atin Bansal are graduate students in the Computer
Science
and Engineering Department at Pennsylvania State University.
They are
working on their Masters thesis in the ACS lab under Dr. Frank
Ritter. A
current model of eyes and hands will be used to build a software
around it.
Given a model of a telephone to the system,it should should
predict the
response time of a human to learn the interface. It will have
some
parameters which the user specifies to switch learning mode,
fovea size,
distance from the instrument, number of calls to be made, etc.
It will also
give a complete summary of the various things learned, mistakes
found etc.
The software will be based on the Soar architecture and will
use Lisp and
TCL/TK.
